Max won!

A few weeks ago we went to the Cotton Days Festival in the next town over. There was an insurance company booth that was giving away coloring books for the kids and the lady told Jordyn and Max that they were having a coloring contest. She said the pages had to be in by the next Friday, so the kids went home and got to coloring. I honestly thought the kids would forget about the contest, but nope, they didn't! On Friday we had to go down and turn in the papers. Jordyn and Max went with me. Jake also colored a page, but he stayed home with Rob. Anyway, when we turned in the pages Max was so proud of himself when the lady gushed over what a good job they all did. He asked her if he could have his page back when they were done and she took our address and said she'd mail them all back. The other day Rob checked the mail and there were the kids pages and a letter to Max with a $10 Visa card stating that he had won!! He is so excited. I told him we could go to Walmart today and he could spend his money. He can't wait to use his "credit card" as he calls it. I'm glad I took the 1/2 hour to turn in the papers, even though I really didn't want to. It was worth it for the HUGE smile on Max's face.

Overheard this morning

Jake to Rob: "I'm still a little kid, but I'll be a medium kid, soon!"

Oh my gosh! That kid cracks me up!

That made my whole WEEK!

Yesterday I got a phone call from a lady from the School District Preschool where Jake goes to speech therapy. She had heard that I had applied for Head Start next year for Jake and informed me that they can make referrals and that Jake was an excellent candidate. She is mailing me a letter so I can give my permission for the referral. I am so excited, with the referral from the school district I'm 99.9% sure that Jake will get into Head Start next year! Yay!!! I was really worried about how bored he was gonna be next year when Max goes to school all day. I guess it's time to look into classes at the college for me!

What we did today

Rob surprised me this morning telling me we should take the boys to a splash pad after we picked up Max from school. I thought it would be fun, so I agreed. We didn't tell them where we were going, but they knew something was up 'cause we both picked Max up. Usually only one of us picks him up from school and we go home. The boys were so excited when we pulled into the park parking lot! Max jumped right into getting wet, but it took Jake forever to decide that the water was ok.

Jake only wanted to play with this for the longest time. It made some neat sounds!

Max loved the big water guns!

Max

Jake's still not too sure he wants to get wet, but getting Max wet is ok!

Finally getting in the water!

This was both their favorite thing to do.
Sit on the water spray!
Goofy boys!

Max always has to pull a funny face whenever the camera comes out.
